Heirloom quilts are a special treasure to be enjoyed for many generations. Small, even stitches are a defining mark of Heirloom Hand Quilting. Three qualities of fine hand quilting are: small, even stitches; nice straight stitches and thread knots that are always hidden.
The levels of quilting skill are based upon the number of stitchs per inch.
Average - up to 5 stitches per inch
Very Good - 6-7 stitches per inch
Excellent - 8-9 stitches per inch
Outstanding - 10+ stitches per inch.
Linda's stitches are consisterntly 7-8 stitches per inch. They may be higher depending on the type of batting used. Her stitches are straight, neat and the knots are always hidden.
Linda offers custom hand quilting and soon will offer machine quilting using a 1916 Singer Treadle machine!
Other services also include custom piecing, quilt repairs and taking your antique or new quilt blocks and turning them into a completed quilt.
